There is power in prayer
We believe that part of our responsibility to one another is to pray.
Prayer is not merely an answering service where we leave voice messages for God and hope He gets to them in a timely manner. It's intended to be more like a conversation where we can present our praise to God for what He has done, what He will do, and who He is. We can make petitions in confidence that He hears us and cares for us. We can intercede on the behalf of our friends and family, our government leaders, our church, and our community.
But more than this, we can hear from Heaven. We can hear from God Himself, sometimes through a spoken word - that still, small voice. But most often God communicates through His living, life-giving, breathed-out Word - through Scripture.
At one time, only certain people could come into the place where God dwelt and speak with Him. But since Jesus came, and the veil was torn, we now have unlimited access to the holiest place - the place where God dwells. We can come before God, and while in humility present in all boldness our hearts before Him.
Furthermore, we know that "...the fervent and effectual prayer of a righteous person has much power. (James 5:16)" So then, as we strive together to be made into the likeness and image of God through Jesus, as we seek as a body to decrease, and see God increase all the more (John 3:30), we are confident we will grow in strength and be continually built up in Christ when we pray continually (1 Thess. 5:17).
Please leave us any requests you might have here as you feel led and are comfortable. It is our joy to remember you in prayer.
NOTE: Any prayer request you share with us at The Way will remain confidential and will only be shared among our elders unless otherwise stated.
